Your First Visit to Pride Dental

Your first visit to Pride Dental is your introduction to our friendly, relaxing environment and highly skilled and knowledgeable team. The thoroughness of your initial exam will make it clear that you are in good hands and a dental office like no other.

At this first visit, you can expect

  • An in-depth evaluation of your full medical and dental history.
  • Digital x-rays, as needed.
  • A blood pressure check.
  • A thorough exam of your oral cavity.
  • A full periodontal exam.
  • Oral cancer screening.
  • Oral hygiene coaching to optimize your home care.

A Note on X-rays

For every new patient, we must have a current full mouth series of x-rays. X-rays let us see what a simple visual exam can’t, such as the insides of your teeth, their roots, and your jawbone. This first set of x-rays also gives us a baseline to track changes over time.

If you have a good quality full mouth series that is less than 12 months old, we may be able to use those rather than take new ones. This is at the doctor’s discretion.

Developing Your Personal Treatment Plan

Once we have gathered all the necessary diagnostic information, we’ll discuss treatment options with you. At Pride Dental, we work with you to prioritize your care, planning an appropriate course for your follow up work. We’ll also work with you regarding any insurance coverage and the payment options that will work best for you.

A Note on Scheduling & Missed Appointments

When you schedule an appointment with us, we reserve a sometimes substantial block of time specifically for you and your needs. If you ever need to change or cancel an appointment, please let us know at least two business days before your scheduled visit.

This way, we have an opportunity to offer your time slot to another patient waiting to be scheduled.

We understand that life happens and conflicts can sometimes arise unexpectedly. However, missing an appointment or canceling without enough notice more than once may result in your being charged a fee.

Before Your First Visit

We appreciate your filling out your new patient forms online, before your first appointment with us. It saves you time (no need to arrive early to do your forms) and gives you the opportunity to be as complete and detailed as possible. The more info we have, the more able we are to meet your specific needs.
